Ayurveda Life

Learn to heal your body, mind and soul through Ayurveda. At Ayurveda Life we bridge ancient wisdom into modern life.

Hi, I'm Ellen

I’m a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach, trained under the guidance of the renowned Dr. Deepika Rodrigo at The Ayurveda Institute UK.

Having experienced my own health journey with multiple food intolerances, chronic constipation, migraines and neck and jaw pain, my pain has become my purpose. It is my mission to help people reconnect with themselves, heal their digestion, and find food freedom again.

Ayurveda was the turning point in my journey. Through its time-tested holistic approach, I learned how to bring mind, body, and soul back into balance. This shift transformed my life - from living with over 16 food intolerances to finally experiencing food freedom and being able to enjoy meals without digestive discomfort. This felt like an impossible dream until I understood the root cause of my issues.

Today, I share this wisdom through one-to-one coaching, my community group Ayurveda Life, as well as workshops, speaking events, and collaborations with aligned brands.

Understanding Ayurveda

The most simple yet advanced form of holistic health

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the world's oldest holistic system of medicine that emerged over 5,000 years ago in India and Sri Lanka. The term itself translates to the “knowledge of life,” offering a guide to cultivating balance and vitality in the body and mind through daily habits, nourishing foods, herbal medicine, and mindfulness.

Unlike conventional allopathic Western healthcare, which often treats symptoms in isolation, Ayurveda sees the whole person -mind, body, emotions, and life experiences. Its greatest strength lies in identifying the root cause of imbalance rather than merely masking discomfort. This personalised approach aims to restore equilibrium unique to your body type and life circumstances.

The Pillars of Ayurveda

  • Understanding your individual constitution and how your energy type (dosha) shapes your wellbeing

  • Reigniting your natural digestive fire (Agni) and fostering gut harmony

  • Addressing the underlying cause of discomfort - not just covering up symptoms or triggers

  • Creating an inner environment that supports healing through food, routines, and herbal support

  • Embracing the idea that food truly is medicine, and everyday habits are powerful tools for balance and vitality

Approach

Food as medicine

Ayurveda teaches us that food is not just fuel, but medicine for the body and mind. When we eat fresh, seasonal, and whole foods, we support the body’s natural ability to repair and rejuvenate itself. The quality of the food we eat directly shapes our energy, digestion, and even our longevity. By choosing real, nourishing foods over processed options, we can slow down ageing, boost vitality, and create balance from within.

Gut health and digestion

Ayurveda, the oldest and most enduring system of holistic health, shared with the world 5,000 years ago, that all disorders and diseases originate from an unbalanced digestive fire or gut. Now, modern science is catching up to the importance of gut health and the connection it has to mental health and all diseases.

Why Ayurveda?

My journey into Ayurveda began with my own health challenges. For over seven years, I struggled with multiple food intolerances, digestive issues, migraines, neck and jaw pain, and anxiety. I grew tired of managing symptoms, avoiding triggers, and relying on quick fixes. Eventually, the pain became so debilitating that I knew something had to change - I needed to find a deeper approach to healing. That search led me to explore alternative systems of health.

Ayurveda resonated with me immediately. It wasn’t just my long-held dream of visiting India - it was the way this ancient system wove together mindfulness, spirituality, and health into one complete path. Rather than isolating symptoms, Ayurveda looks at the whole person, uncovering root causes and guiding us gently back into alignment.

In early 2024, I spent three transformative months travelling through India. Living in ashrams, deepening my yoga practice, and studying Ayurveda during an intensive course in Kerala. That experience reaffirmed that this was the health system I wanted to specialise in.

I am a qualified Ayurvedic health coach and have used Ayurveda as a tool to not only heal myself but those around me. My methodology combines the principles of Ayurveda with practical tools for modern living. I focus on:

  • Understanding your unique body constitution (dosha)

  • Healing the gut and digestion as the foundation of health

  • Creating daily rituals that bring grounding and balance
